Dear Sandy,

Thank you so much for sending me a copy of In The Tree House.  It’s delightful!

I was glad to see this original story of a Syrian kid who wants to be a bishop. The book is beautifully done, very American and very religious as well.

This is a whole new side to Mar Aphrem! (Now I am beginning to wonder is it an autobiographical story!)

Thanks again.  May this beautiful little book be well received and sell well.

Dear Sandy Ghattas,

Thank you very much for sending me the new book by my Brother-in-Christ Archbishop Cyril Aphrem Karim, In The Tree House.

I read the book and am sure that it will be enjoyed by children and provide a positive image of clergymen and perhaps influence some into service to Our Lord and His vineyard.

All religions, including my own Armenian Church, are in need of dedicated clergymen to lead the flock. Being an inspiring role for young people is the best way to encourage those who, like the young Matthew in this book, have a vocation for a life of service.

Thank you again for the beautiful book. I will express my congratulations and appreciation to Archbishop Cyril when we meet.

I wish you success in all your publishing endeavors and thank you for undertaking this lovely project.

A Momentous Event

Archbishop Cyril held a group of children spellbound while reading from his new children’s book, In The Tree House. On this special Sunday afternoon, children and parents alike were caught up in the Archbishop’s reading and spontaneous interaction with the children.

As one attendee, Jack Darakjy, Esq., shared:
“This was one of the most interesting and unique events I have ever attended. The picture of Archbishop Cyril sitting with those young toddlers and reading to them was, as the saying goes, “priceless.” In the nearly 50 years that I have been attending our Church here in the U.S., I have never witnessed anything comparable to this heartwarming scene. I think that virtually everyone who was there felt exactly the same way. It is hard to think of a more perfect example of Christian love and humility. I’m glad I was there to be a part of it and I thank you again for the invite.”
